We have to be smart about what we do online. Today I want to share about setting ourselves up for success in our social media accounts. This will have a big influence on our success moving forward and It does not matter which social media platform you want to use- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, the list goes on!
There are different styles of marketers out there, some are churn and burn– They promote, promote and promote, sometimes they are promoting 3 different products in one day. This style of marketer get a lot of unsubscribes and they burn their lists out faster than the next style of marketer.
The other type of marketer is the marketer who wants to build a relationship with their list! They will provide value and get to know their list and let their list get to know them. Don’t think that they don’t promote because they do they just spread their promotions between their pure value posts.
Today’s post is about the relationship style of marketer.
This is how I try to set up my social media accounts for the maximum benefit in building my brand and my online reputation!
Step 1– I created my profile so that it was most interesting to the people who are likely to be interested in what I offer.
I didn’t create it to appeal to every person online, I created it in a way that spoke to the people who are most likely to take out a credit card and purchase.
So you gotta know who that is. Before you can create a profile that speaks to them, you gotta know who they are.
So who is most likely to actually be willing to purchase what you have to offer? Here’s a hint, they probably have purchased other things like it in the past and may be following some of the same people who are in the same niche as you.
Then your profile should give them value that speaks to whoever they are.
Step 2– is to set-up the actual text of your bio.
Do not just to talk about yourself but make it to tell people what they are going to get from following you.
This is going to sound really bad but People don’t care about you! People care about themselves. So keep that in mind when you’re filling out your bio so that they understand what benefit they will get from following you!
Remember- you have about three seconds or less to make them follow you.
Step 3- Set-up our bio link, the actual website link in your bio, You want to give away something for free that our customers would be interested in. Free does not mean junk. You need to give away something of value
Remember, we are not trying to sell them directly from our page. We give away something for free in exchange for their email address so that we could start building an email list and generating leads.
Once they’re a lead, that’s when you go for the sale. Trying to push people to make a sale directly from your website link is NOT going to happen, at least not very often!
Step 4– 80% of your posts should be pure value.
So if you’re speaking to the MMO Niche then give tips about building an online business. If you’re speaking to people who are interested in health and wellness give tips about health and wellness but give value to your audience. Give them a reason to follow and engage with you.
Then the other 20% of the time, guess what? Just give them a call to action, a CTA. Tell them why they should click the link in your bio.
And if you’ve given all this good value before, when you tell them to do something, they’re much more likely to do it! And when they click the link in your bio, they’re getting whatever freebie you’ve set-up and you’re generating a lead for your business.
Step 5- Start connecting with people who are likely to be interested in your offer and growing your account. Finding them on other accounts or through hashtags and connecting with those people who are most likely to join, to purchase, to buy.
People who’ve already expressed some sort of interest in your niche, in your industry based on the post that they’re making, or that they’re commenting or engaging on online. Now before we get into our final step which has personally helped me to have success online we all need to master the art of making NON-SALESY posts in our social media accounts, This will help you grow your list much quicker with happier subscribers.
Step 6- This is the final step. Reach out and actually connect with people. If someone is having an issue with something that you can help with, then engage with them and help them to overcome that problem!
This final step helps us to not just have a conversation but you are actually building your like, know and trust status with them which in turn will make them want to buy from you in the future.
The key here is to have something that will solve people’s problems and they’re actually interested in. As you grow your Social media accounts and you get more and more followers and you get more and more reach on your posts, you’re gonna get more people just clicking on the link and generating leads 24/7 without you doing anything.
If your just starting out then you are going to have to start connecting with people! Remember It’s social media! People want to be social! So talk to people, have a conversation, figure out how you can help them and then simply offer to help them out(your promotions come after).
It’s really that easy! Don’t make it harder than it is.
Get busy on Building your business.
